TV Advertsing Commercial Production Specs for National TV Spots. (Clients Providing their own commercial please note:)

For Clients who are submitting their TV Commercial from a production company other than National TV Spots Production Services, please direct your production company to this page so they can submit broadcast ready media via DG Fast or BetaSP, depending on the platform you will be running your commercial on. Some take digital transfer and some are not set up for it. We will advise. But any way you make it, these are industry standard specs and must be adhered to in the submitted media for broadcast.

Opening Slate:

At the start of every commercial there must be a minimum of 8 seconds of a combination color bars and tone followed by 5 seconds minimum of the opening slate identifying Client, Title, Length, ISCI CODE followed by 2 seconds of black, then the commercial.

We prefer to assign isci codes based on your name.

The Client will always be: NTVS/ followed by shortname for Client. ie if Marshall's Dept Store were the Client, the Client name on the slate would be NTVS/Marshall.

Time code is preferred on all commercials. At minimum, the commercial should have a continuous control track for at least 15 seconds prior to the beginning of the commercial, continue throughout the commercial and for at least 15 seconds after the commercial.

There must be at least 15 frames of silence at the head of the commercial from the start of the video until the start of the commercial audio.

The beginning and end of the commercial must fade in and out in black.
